A Classic Drink from the 1960’s

Officially born in 1969, the Caeser was created to commemorate the opening of Calgary restaurant Marco’s Italian. However, some will argue that similar clam juice-based cocktails were mixed long before that bear a similar resemblance to the Caeser. No matter which version of this spicy beverage you prefer, grab yourself one of our Pickled Ceasers and we’ll cheers to that!

Try this recipe:

1.5 oz vodka

2 dashes hot sauce

3 dashes salt and pepper

4 dashes Worcestershire sauce

5 oz Clamato juice

Celery salt on a plate

1 juice of one lime

Dip the rim of your glass in the celery salt and fill the glass with all ingredients along with a celery stalk or a lime wedge for garnish.

A Classic Drink from the 1860’s

While the Whiskey Sour may have been around long before the 1860s, the first written mention of this drink was in 1862 in The Bartender’s Guide: How To Mix Drinks by Jerry Thomas. Since then, the recipe has largely been adapted, sometimes even to include raw egg whites for a creamy finish. Our version brings you all the flavour you know and love, without the gooey twist.

Try this recipe:

2 oz bourbon

¾ oz fresh lemon juice

¾ oz simple syrup

Mix all ingredients in a shaker before shaking with ice. Pour into a short glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry or an orange wheel.

If you’re looking to break away from these classic cocktails, we’ve got you covered. Our drink menu is extensive and our experienced bartenders are always happy to bring you something new. See you at Parkway!
